Job Description

Control the implementation of all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of plant, associated tools and equipment in accordance with HSSE/ EAMMR and other regulatory or legislative requirements. Assist with the development and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM). Carry out repair and maintenance work according to PPM schedules as necessary and planned work orders as required. Carry out repairs, overhauls, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on associated plant having due regard to safety and customer care in the specific environment. Responsibility for ensuring safe and healthy working conditions are maintained and to ensure that safe systems of work in accordance with company procedures are followed. Carrying out site specific operation and maintenance duties as per manufacturers specification and contractual obligations. Provide technical advice and expertise. Demonstrates autonomy on key decisions whilst communicating business justification and operational need. Manage and carry out system repairs, overhauls, reactive maintenance and minor installation works on associated plant. Drive preventative actions to maintain the operation of the plant and thorough work planning. Direct contact for global customers and partners to assist in technical cases. To ensure maximum availability of all plant. 1st / 2nd line fault response including fault finding and resolution. Involvement in root cause analysis of faults. Working with both specialist and general sub-contractors / service partners. Ensure all staff and contractors involved comply with safety, legal, company and group requirements. Issuing and controlling of safety documents and ensure relevant health and safety policy is adhered too. Have an understanding on Permit to Work Systems, and all other relevant Health and Safety requirements. Co-ordination and liaison with E. ON's Remote-Control Centre. Enacting role in site emergency response procedure and provide diagnosis. Responsible for sites with generating capacities of up to 10MW.el and around 50MW.th. O&M budgets per site range from £15-250K per annum. Including BESS installations.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in an engineering discipline with electrical and instrumentation bias / electromechanical
  • Independent trouble shooting and problem-solving skills in stressful situations
  • Proactive, self-disciplined and highly motivated with well organised work style
  • Ability to work constructively with customers and sub-contractors
  • Customer satisfaction and needs driven orientation

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of LV systems such as BESS and PV install
  • Knowledge of boiler heating systems, including steam raising plant
  • Knowledge of gas turbines and reciprocating engines a distinct advantage
  • Gas Safe Registration beneficial
  • Health & safety qualification e.g. IOSH / NEBOSH desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of specific installation technologies: Biomass, CHP, Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP), BESS
  • SCADA system management
  • Experience of industrial reciprocating engine CHP plant
  • Experience of working on MTHW and steam systems
  • Understanding of CHP systems and knowledge of BESS Sites desirable
