Operating Room RNs are an integral part of the surgical team, providing essential nursing care to patients during surgical cases. Their role requires a high level of accuracy and professionalism in a fast-paced surgical environment. As an Operating Room RN, they are responsible for ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care during surgery. Their ability to maintain a professional approach while providing nursing care is critical in ensuring positive patient outcomes while keeping patients and their families informed. Will work directly with surgeons, medical/surgical staff and post-acute caregivers to create comprehensive patient care from pre- to post-op.

Prepping the patient
Circulating the case
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all age patients in operating room
Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center
Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members
May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room and/or Director of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
Active RN license in PA
BLS, ACLS, or PALS required upon hire and required within one year of hiring date
Ability to Scrub and Circulate as needed
One year experience required intra-operative setting
Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities
Physically and emotionally capable of performing responsibilities of position
Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
