The Operating Engineer will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
Job Responsibility:
Performs all assigned maintenance departmental service requests
Completes assigned elements of the preventative maintenance program
Completes assigned training to the operations staff
Demonstrates the proper use and care of tools and instruments
Ensure that work performed in client space is accomplished with a minimum of disruption
Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility
Record readings and adjust where necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment
Maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts
Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory
Perform additional job duties as requested
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in the building maintenance industry
Accredited trade school degree/certificate in HVAC, electrical or other industry related trade
Ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action
Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel and Outlook
Must be available for the on-call rotation responding to emergencies 24 hours a day during your portion of the rotation
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
