As the next Operate Technician, you will be a valued member of the station at Heysham 1 to ensure the daily operations of the station run smoothly and offer the best performance possible. You will be responsible for the safe and reliable operations of a nuclear power plant in accordance with all licenses, regulating bodies, company business strategies and industry best practices. You will also be required to perform Emergency Scheme duties where you will receive full training.
Job Responsibility:

Responsible for safe and reliable operations of a nuclear power plant in accordance with licenses, regulating bodies, company strategies and industry best practices
Perform Emergency Scheme duties
Monitor plant conditions, identify and resolve sub-standard conditions
Respond to requests from control room to investigate plant alarms and perform required operations
Control and monitor plant and equipment following procedures
Apply conservative decision-making techniques
Show solid understanding of plant operation, design and theory
Investigate and rectify plant faults
Conduct plant operations, lifting activities and health physics monitoring
Train in breathing apparatus, firefighting, casualty rescue, first aid (FREC 3), confined space entry and working at height
Requirements:
Experience of mechanical, engineering, operational or process work with supporting qualifications
Good level of computer literacy
Strong understanding of general literacy
Demonstrate excellent communication skills
Willingness to learn and broaden knowledge base
Able to work as part of a small shift team
Educated to GCSE/National Qualifications standards or equivalent
Meet criteria for Counter Terrorist Check with British residency for last 3 years
