This job is responsible for the operation of open cut mine equipment to facilitate the production of coal.
Job Responsibility:
Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values
Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
Work in all areas of Dispatch including Exceptions/Radio, Overburden, and Coal Blending
Monitor radio, text, email, and phone communications and respond accordingly
Correctly handle employee log-on, pre-starts, hour meters, equipment status
Monitor and update Shovel projects to ensure correct shovel floor and dig limits are correct
Correctly handle exceptions as needed and input comments
Coordinate fueling and lunches of people and equipment
Check, review and prioritize OB runs to follow shovel priorities to the mine plan
Monitor roads and dumps to ensure material is being hauled efficiently to the correct location per the mine plan and data is being recorded
Monitor production and KPI’s throughout the shift on a regular basis to review production levels and changes needed throughout shift
Work safely and promote the safe behavior in others
Interact with people at all levels within the organization, customers, and visitors
Gather information and update equipment/operator status
Coordinate with Machine Health to develop work orders regarding Intellifleet, Modular, Rajant, Motorola radio and other technology systems for equipment repairs
Other duties as assigned by the Company
Requirements:
Three (3) years of coal or other mining experience in a production or plant area
preference given to candidates who gained experience at NARM and/or filled in at NARM dispatch
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, computer, etc.)
Regularly expresses ideas/suggestions in a constructive/professional manner
Frequently communicates with all facets of operations/employees in calm and professional manner (face to face, telephone, radio, email, texting, etc.)
Develop, generate, and analyze reports for use in operating the mine, providing data for operations and production optimization
Strong computer knowledge and abilities including dispatch programs, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Teams, SAP, etc.
Advanced knowledge of mine planning, tracking and prioritization
High attention to detail
Strong ability to multi-task in very busy environment
Ability to handle stress/pressure in a calm and professional manner
Ability to foster positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors to facilitate mutual safety and production goals
Ability to quickly assess and prioritize work goals and solve problems in a fast-paced pit operations environment
