Brandeis University’s Rabb School of Continuing Studies is seeking a skilled online course developer to design and build a new three credit asynchronous online course titled: RITM 130 IT Operations, Vendor Ecosystems, and Technology Financial Management. This course will provide students with an opportunity to examine the operational, financial, and external-partner dimensions of managing enterprise technology. The course covers vendor governance, service-level agreements, financial planning, cost modeling, and operational maturity frameworks.
Job Responsibility:
Design and build a new three credit asynchronous online course titled: RITM 130 IT Operations, Vendor Ecosystems, and Technology Financial Management
Serve as an Online Course Developer within Brandeis Online’s graduate program
Design and build asynchronous, instructor-facilitated online courses aligned with institutional learning outcomes, accreditation standards, and workforce relevance
Develop an online asynchronous course entailing the creation and/or selection of elements as outlined in the Brandeis Online Course Standards
Create required components including a Brandeis-compliant syllabus, instructor-created materials informed by current industry knowledge, learning objects, and applied assignments and assessments aligned to course and program outcomes
Be responsible for the substantive content and pedagogical strategies of the course and agree to uphold Brandeis’s academic standards and online course development guidelines
Collaborate with Brandeis Online staff, adhere to technical requirements for LMS integration, and meet project milestones
Submit course drafts at designated intervals for feedback
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Information Systems, IT Management, Technology Management, Business Administration (technology focus), or a closely related field
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT operations, technology management, vendor governance, or enterprise service delivery
Demonstrated expertise in IT operations frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT), service management, and operational maturity models
Experience with vendor management, service-level agreements (SLAs), contract oversight, and third-party risk considerations
Experience in technology budgeting, cost modeling, financial planning, or IT financial management (e.g., OpEx/CapEx planning, chargeback models)
Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education
Proficiency with LMS platforms and digital authoring tools
Familiarity with analytical tools, collaborative platforms, and interdisciplinary teamwork
Strong communication, organization, and independent work skills
Familiarity with curriculum design, accreditation standards, and graduate-level rigor
Ability to translate interdisciplinary content into engaging, accessible learning pathways
Strong writing and editing skills to produce cohesive, learner-centered experiences
Nice to have:
Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Administration, Public Policy (technology focus), or related field
5+ years of experience in IT operations leadership, technology portfolio management, or enterprise service governance
Professional experience as a CIO, IT Operations Director, Technology Portfolio Manager, Vendor Management Lead, or similar leadership role
Industry certifications such as ITIL Managing Professional, COBIT, Certified Technology Business Management (CTBM), PMP, or equivalent
Experience teaching or developing graduate-level online courses
Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy
Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P)
Familiarity with experiential learning models and employer-aligned curriculum
