Job Description:

We’re looking for a specialised fraud and risk expert to build a new 24/7 Casino Threat Analysis team. Reporting to the Casino Lead, you will own the operational processes regarding alerts, triggers and fraud mitigation across the Stake casino product. A pioneer hire for our growing Casino team. This role is critical for protecting the business against evolving threat actors while ensuring legitimate customers are not negatively impacted. You will be responsible for defining the scope of monitoring and creating standardised runbooks, eventually managing a team dedicated to real-time threat detection. From investigating card counting to analysing blockchain transactions, you will work closely with the Casino Lead, Business Intelligence (BI) department and external providers to secure the platform and minimise financial loss.

Job Responsibility:

  • Process Management: Build and support a specialised team operating 24/7 to respond to alerts and threats in real-time. Create, refine, and maintain standardised runbooks for the team to action alerts based on severity
  • Alerting & Monitoring: Oversee the monitoring of internal channels (e.g., #payout_alert) and third-party alerts to respond to potential fraud. Scope new alerting requirements for the BI team to implement as the product and infrastructure grow
  • Reporting: Regularly report on actioned alerts, the cost to the business of specific fraud groups, and trends in abuser behaviour

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in iGaming Fraud, Risk, or Casino Operations
  • Deep understanding of Casino mechanics, specifically the mathematics behind Blackjack/Baccarat (Card Counting) and slot abuse
  • Experience with blockchain analysis and tracking wallet movements (Chainalysis experience is a plus)
  • Ability to create operational workflows, runbooks, and escalation processes
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work through large data sets to identify unusual patterns

Nice to have:

  • Proficiency with alerting and data tools such as Tableau, Mixpanel, and Jira
  • Experience with communication and documentation tools: Slack, Confluence, and Google Suite
  • Sports & Gambling knowledge advantageous
  • Cryptocurrency knowledge would be advantageous
