Job Description:

Andersen is hiring a OneShield Developer to support an international insurance company. The role focuses on integrating OneShield into existing systems to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance operations. The project is focused on integrating OneShield into the client’s ecosystem, ensuring seamless alignment with existing systems, processes, and workflows to enhance efficiency and support business operations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Being involved in different phases of the SDLC across various development projects
  • Designing solutions and creating the required supporting documentation in accordance with the Hiscox Change Delivery Framework
  • Complying with and helping enforce reuse, design, coding, and testing standards, policies, and software engineering best practices
  • Working collaboratively with test teams during product testing and UAT phases to resolve assigned defects
  • Supporting code deployment across multiple environments
  • Reporting status, issues, and risks to technical leads on a regular basis
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues arising in day-to-day operational processes, providing timely responses and solutions
  • Improving software engineering skills by completing relevant development certifications

Requirements:

  • Experience as a OneShield Developer for 3+ years
  • Strong background in Java Enterprise Edition, including Spring and other open-source Java frameworks
  • Hands-on work with service-oriented architecture and web services (REST and SOAP)
  • Practical knowledge of Java build tools (Maven or Ant) and application servers such as WildFly, Tomcat, or JBoss
  • Experience developing and integrating modern JavaScript frameworks and APIs
  • Solid knowledge of relational databases, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Ability to read, understand, and work with technical design documentation within the development lifecycle
  • Hands-on participation in Agile development methodologies
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse customer and partner groups
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, prioritisation, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments with a high level of ambiguity
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to the insurance industry and/or the OneShield insurance platform
  • Experience designing and implementing frontend applications
  • Familiarity with API management platforms
  • Experience building cloud-based serverless applications
  • Experience with mobile or tablet development, including responsive and hybrid applications
  • Knowledge of additional Agile practices such as XP, Kanban, BDD, or TDD
  • Insurance domain experience
