This locum tenens position offers you the chance to work closely with patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, focusing on hematology and oncology. With no on-call requirements during the locum period, this role emphasizes patient care and involves participation on a tumor board and managing bone marrow transplants.
Job Responsibility
Participate in a tumor board
Manage bone marrow transplants and blood bank activities
Order and interpret tests and images
Prescribe treatments and oversee chemotherapy administered by nurse oncologists
Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology Oncology
Active SC license (or willingness to obtain)
BLS and DEA certifications
Clean background for emergency temp privileges
Current NPDB required for presentation
Nice to have
Proficiency with EPIC EMR is advantageous
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a team of physicians and advanced practice providers
High attention to detail in patient care and documentation
