Job Description:

Locum Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist (Band 7/8a) role in an NHS hospital in Lancashire, providing critical expertise in oncology and haematology services, focusing on chemotherapy prescription checking, patient care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Responsibility:

Reviewing, checking, screening chemotherapy prescriptions
providing expert clinical input to oncology and haematology teams
ensuring the safe and effective delivery of cancer treatments
supporting patients in understanding and managing their oncology medications
collaborating with MDTs to improve outcomes for cancer patients
staying current with oncology protocols and pharmacy best practices

Requirements:

Current and valid GPhC registration
recent hospital experience is essential – applicants must have prior NHS or hospital-based experience
experience checking chemotherapy prescriptions is required
strong understanding of oncology and haematology treatment pathways
excellent clinical communication and decision-making skills
a commitment to delivering the highest standard of care
