Job Description

Oncology Nurse Manager role for an Oncology Day Unit within an award-winning healthcare organisation in Guildford. The role involves overseeing cancer services, inspiring the nursing team, and ensuring high standards of patient-centred care.

Job Responsibility

  • Oversee the running of the Oncology Day Unit, ensuring smooth and effective operations
  • Provide expert clinical oversight of oncology care, from diagnosis and treatment, to end of life support
  • Inspire, mentor and develop the nursing team, fostering a culture of education, compassion and inclusion
  • Drive service development, implementing policies and strategies to enhance patient experience and outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, senior colleagues, the wider multidisciplinary team and patients

Requirements

  • Qualified Nurse with NMC registration
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Strong clinical experience working within an Oncology setting
  • SACT (Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy) passport
  • Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and supervising clinical staff
  • Solid understanding of clinical governance, audits, infection prevention and risk management
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisation skills
