Job Description:

Night On Call Per Diem Hospice Registered Nurse. Mercy Hospice is a comprehensive program offered by Dignity Health for individuals and families facing serious and life-threatening illness with a prognosis of six months or less. Mercy Hospice professionals and volunteers offer physical, emotional and spiritual comfort to patients and families. The primary focus of Mercy Hospice is to enable families to care for their loved ones at home.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide nursing care to Hospice patients and their families in their place of residence
  • Function as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Provide competent compassionate care
  • Assist in pain and symptom management
  • Provide emotional support education and community resources
  • Provide spiritual support
  • Provide personal services
  • Provide volunteer services for companionship respite and caregiver support
  • Provide continuing support to families for a period of 13 months through bereavement program

Requirements:

  • Current CA RN license
  • 1 year Hospice nursing (LVN or RN) experience in the past 5 years
  • Current AHA BLS
  • Current CA Driver's License and Auto Insurance and access to an operating motor vehicle
  • Shift 1700-0830 On Call

Nice to have:

  • Bachelors Of Science Nursing
  • Public Health Nurse certificate
  • CHPN certificate
