Job Description

We are currently seeking Energy Lawyers focused in Oil & Gas to work on-site in Houston, Texas with our global clients in the energy industry in Houston, Texas. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in oil and gas law, with expertise in providing legal advice and support on a wide range of energy-related matters.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters related to oil and gas exploration, production, and transportation, including environmental regulations, permitting requirements, and land use issues
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of oil and gas agreements, including leases, joint operating agreements, purchase and sale agreements, processing agreements and pipeline contracts
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government laws and regulations

Requirements

  • Active bar license in at least one US State
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on oil and gas law, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department setting
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations governing the oil and gas industry, including the Mineral Leasing Act, Clean Air Act, and Natural Gas Act
  • Experience with EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) agreements

Nice to have

  • Experience advising clients on upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions and projects
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with energy commodities with an emphasis on pipelines and terminals, and experience counseling on energy compliance matters
