The Overhead Line (OHL) Engineer will be responsible for the design review, supervision, and execution of high-voltage overhead transmission line projects ranging from 132 kV to 400 kV. This role ensures technical compliance, quality assurance, and safe implementation of tower erection, stringing, and commissioning activities.
Job Responsibility:
Review and validate engineering designs for OHL systems (132–400 kV), including tower configurations, conductor selection, and route alignment
Supervise site execution activities such as tower erection, conductor stringing, and sag/tension calculations
Witness and support line testing and commissioning procedures to ensure system readiness and compliance
Coordinate with substation, cable, and civil teams to ensure proper interface alignment and execution
Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements
Review technical documentation, method statements, and construction drawings for accuracy and constructability
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of experience in high-voltage OHL projects, including design and site supervision
Strong knowledge of: IEC and CIGRE standards related to overhead transmission lines
Tower erection techniques, stringing operations, and line testing protocols
Excellent coordination, documentation, and communication skills
Familiarity with terrain analysis, route surveys, and environmental considerations in OHL projects is an advantage
