Job Description

We are opening a brand-new, 3-bed OFSTED-registered children's residential home in Leicester and are seeking an experienced, values-led Registered Manager to lead the service from launch. The home will support children and young people aged 8-17 with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioural needs, providing a warm, therapeutic, and empowering environment where young people can build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve positive, personalised outcomes.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead and manage a therapeutic, child-centred residential service
  • Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
  • Embed a strong safeguarding culture and manage risk effectively
  • Recruit, lead, motivate, and develop a skilled and committed staff team
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including budgets, rotas, and resources
  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals
  • Drive continuous improvement and uphold the home's Statement of Purpose
  • Create a stable, nurturing environment where young people can thrive

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing children's residential homes
  • Strong understanding of legislation, safeguarding, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting young people aged 8-17 with learning disabilities and/or EBD
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce
  • QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Children's Services (or willingness to work towards)
  • Full UK driving licence
