Our client is seeking an Offshore Measurement Technician I to work within their facilities located in Port Fourchon, LA on a long-term assignment (initially 12 months with possibility of extension / becoming permanent).
Job Responsibility:
Perform accurate measurement of oil, gas, and liquid hydrocarbons for allocation and custody transfer purposes
Conduct LACT meter proving, sales gas meter calibration, and verification in compliance with regulatory and company standards
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate liquid and gas metering systems, ensuring reliable measurement performance
Support and verify oil and gas sampling activities to meet custody transfer and allocation requirements
Work with single-phase metering systems, including positive displacement, turbine, orifice, and V-cone meters
Diagnose measurement discrepancies and perform equipment testing and corrective actions as required
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company procedures
Utilize measurement and flow computer software, including OMNICOM, PCCU32, and MON2000, to monitor, configure, and document measurement data
Prepare, review, and maintain accurate measurement reports, calibration records, and documentation
Collaborate with engineers, operations, and other technicians to support reliable measurement and production reporting
Follow strict safety protocols while working around heavy equipment and in hazardous or offshore environments
Travel to offshore locations as required to support field measurement activities
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience / training in Oil and Gas Allocation and Custody Transfer measurement systems
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for LACT meter proving, Sales Gas meter calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling for Custody Transfer
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for liquid and gas meter operation, calibration, and Oil & Gas sampling, for allocation
Knowledge of single-phase metering by positive displacement, helical turbine, orifice, and v-cone, for oil and natural gas systems, troubleshooting and equipment testing procedures
Ability to navigate and use Windows-based programs such as OMNICOM, PCCU32, Mon 2000
Experience in the use of computers and a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to travel and work on offshore locations, around heavy equipment, and in variable environmental conditions
