Reporting to the Lead, Medical and Emergency Response, the Officer, Emergency Response is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of emergency response plans and procedures. This includes emergency drills, ensuring regulatory and operational compliance, and supporting effective emergency preparedness & response across Newmont’s Boddington mine operations.
Job Responsibility:
Support in the preparation and execution of emergency response plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with site-specific needs and regulatory requirements
Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks of emergency response equipment and vehicles, to ensure they are in good working order
Engage in emergency drills and simulations, helping to prepare and conduct these exercises and deliver feedback for continuous improvement
Support Emergency Response Team (ERT) capability through training coordination and readiness assurance
Deliver training and guidance to site personnel on emergency response protocols, including the proper use of emergency equipment and evacuation procedures
Assist incident investigations by collecting information, recording findings, and supporting in the preparation of corrective actions to prevent future emergencies
Requirements:
Certificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue (or equivalent)
Certificate IV in Healthcare (or above)
Strong knowledge of occupational emergency response systems within the mining industry, including operational risk management processes, emergency response standards, monitoring frameworks, and regulatory compliance
Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively at all levels
Full and unrestricted Australian work rights mandatory
