Job Description:

Citi's Finance department is hiring for the role of Officer, Balance Sheet Reconciliation based in Mumbai, India. The role involves performing Balance Sheet reconciliations in line with policy, supporting compliance and transformation initiatives, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to escalate and resolve exceptions. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in accounting and reporting within banking/financial services, be proficient with financial tools, and exhibit strong analytical and team-coordination skills.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure Balance Sheet accounts assigned have been reconciled in line with BSRS Policy and standard/desktop documented procedures
  • perform reconciliations meeting specified criteria, such as reporting exceptions in eRecon and maintaining documentation
  • support the implementation of strategic ledger by participating in UAT for the reconciliation function
  • escalate material reconciliation exceptions in coordination with Account Owners
  • coordinate Internal and External Audits and regulatory interfacing related to the reconciliation function
  • drive monthly Account Review Forum (ARF) with Account Owners Groups and senior controllers
  • partner with Controller Transformation group to improve efficiency and controls
  • drive zero-tolerance culture on control breaches
  • coordinate remediation of high and medium risk EUCs
  • assess risks and demonstrate ethical judgment when making business decisions

Requirements:

  • Extensive years (3+) of proven experience related to accounting, financial reporting and/or product control
  • ability to analyze complex sets of financial data and knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS, preferably in banking / financial services environment
  • proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite
  • financial management competencies
  • demonstrated ability to manage in a complex and dynamic environment
  • ability to support implementations and work closely with project teams
  • ability to coordinate with team members in distributed geographic environments/across functional areas
  • bachelor's/university degree or equivalent experience
