We are looking for an organized and dependable Office Assistant to join our team in Okemos, Michigan. This Contract to potential long-term position offers the opportunity to support a legal office during a maternity leave and possibly transition into an ongoing role. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a proactive approach to administrative tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Answer and direct incoming calls with professionalism and a friendly demeanor
Perform general office tasks such as copying, faxing, scanning, and printing envelopes or letterhead
Maintain cleanliness and organization of office areas and personal workspace
Ensure trash is emptied and light facilities-related tasks are completed as needed
Take initiative to handle additional duties and identify ways to assist the team
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment
Requirements:
Previous experience in an office environment with hands-on use of office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and printers
Ability to quickly learn administrative processes and troubleshoot routine challenges
Strong communication and organizational skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset
Dependable and approachable, with a willingness to assist wherever needed
Proactive and able to work effectively in a team-focused setting
No legal experience required
