Job Description:

The Radiology Representative is responsible greeting patients, answering phone calls, facilitating communication between patients, staff and physicians. Ensuring timely registration of each patient. Escorting patients through the Department and coordinating timeliness of care for each patient.

Job Responsibility:

  • Greets customers courteously, professionally, and in a timely manner
  • Obtains all patient information needed for procedure
  • Follows through with STAT requests / phone calls
  • Communicates with Radiology and other hospital associates as needed to provide optimal patient care
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives
  • Communicates reportable events to team leader or clinical supervisor
  • Maintains collaborative relationship with physicians and other departments
  • Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required
  • Relay any patient complaints reporting to supervisor and filling out Event report as necessary
  • Verifies orders checking each patient's information for correct identifiers, DX code, ordering physician, and multi-disciplinary procedures
  • Escorts each patient from the waiting room to the dressing room or designated area
  • Provides patient instruction as directed by clinical staff
  • Routes out patient to correct area and/or notifies area that patient is ready for procedure
  • Prepares CD's as directed
  • Assists with obtaining outside films for patients prior to arrival at the Breast Center
  • Assist physicians and/or others needing assistance
  • Be able to assist customer with information regarding preps and procedures
  • Monitor linen inventory daily, stock linen cart each morning. Ensure patient dressing rooms are clean and stocked each morning
  • Assists with other tasks as directed by Manager/Director
