We are looking for a dependable Office Assistant II to support a local government health services program in Maryland. This Contract position offers regular hours in a mission-focused setting that serves children and families, with a minimum five-month engagement. The person in this role will help keep daily office operations running smoothly by providing administrative support, maintaining accurate records, and delivering courteous service to visitors, callers, and program partners.
Job Responsibility
Maintain organized paper and electronic files to support accurate recordkeeping and easy document retrieval
Provide day-to-day administrative support for program staff, helping coordinate routine office tasks and workflows
Enter, update, and verify information in internal systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Greet visitors, answer incoming calls, and respond to general inquiries in a courteous and helpful manner
Prepare, sort, archive, and distribute documents to ensure program materials are complete and accessible
Handle confidential client and program information responsibly while following privacy and security standards
Assist with front-desk and reception coverage to support a positive experience for families, providers, and internal teams
Requirements
Previous experience in administrative support, office coordination, or customer-facing clerical work
Ability to manage filing, archiving, data entry, and general office tasks efficiently
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer service approach focused on attention to detail
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail when handling records and documentation
Comfort working with sensitive information in a confidential and detail-focused manner
Experience in a healthcare, human services, public sector, or similar service-driven environment is preferred
Reliable attendance, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy office setting
