Wells Fargo’s Corporate and Investment Banking division is seeking an Off-Cycle Intern to join its Frankfurt office. This opportunity will provide exposure and support to two coverage groups: the Corporate Banking Group (CBG) and the Financial Institutions Group (FIG). As an Off-Cycle Intern, you will work closely with both junior and senior bankers, requiring high levels of adaptability, communication, and time management. You will function as a full member of both teams, contributing to strategic planning and solving financial needs for the largest financial and corporate entities in Europe. CBG Coverage: CBG develops and manages relationships with corporate clients. The team provides exposure to credit analysis, financial modelling, transaction execution, and client interaction across a portfolio of large‑cap corporates. You will work closely with product partners across DCM, M&A, and S&T, as well as with subsidiary coverage teams supporting clients’ US operations. FIG Coverage: The FIG team advises financial institution clients (banks, insurance companies and asset managers) on strategic transactions and capital markets activities. The team provides hands‑on exposure to M&A, capital raising, balance sheet optimization, and financial analysis within the financial services sector.
Job Responsibility
Assist in the preparation of client pitch materials, presentations, and transaction presentations
Conduct financial analysis, including review of financial statements, precedent transactions, and sector‑specific metrics
Support the preparation of credit submissions, annual reviews, and internal memos
Perform industry and company research to support origination and coverage activities
Help monitor client performance, covenants, and risk metrics
Assist with transaction execution, including loans, revolving credit facilities, and ancillary products
Assist with M&A, equity, and debt capital markets execution processes
Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field
Prior experience in corporate banking, investment banking, commercial banking, consulting, or accounting
Fluency in both English and German and an additional European language is desirable
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
