Apex has an immedaite need for a Learning Content Developer to support a major Payroll Transformation Project. This role will focus on designing and developing engaging, effective learning materials that enable employees and stakeholders to adopt new payroll systems, processes, and tools efficiently. The successful candidate will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), project teams, and change management specialists to create content that drives understanding, capability, and confidence across the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories and the ability to leverage technology to enhance learning experiences.
Job Responsibility:
Determine the learning needs for your subject area
Develop high-quality learning materials, including instructor-led training (ILT), job aids, quick reference guides, videos, and FAQs
Translate complex payroll processes and system changes into clear, user-friendly learning experiences
Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure effective knowledge transfer
Partner with payroll SMEs, HR teams, system implementation partners, and change management leads to identify and gather content, and validate accuracy
Work closely with the communications and training teams to ensure consistency of messaging and learning outcomes
Review and test learning materials for accuracy, clarity, and usability
Collect feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve content
Support the development of learning assessments where applicable
Manage multiple deliverables within project timelines and milestones
Maintain version control and documentation of all learning materials
Contribute to the overall change and adoption strategy for the payroll transformation initiative
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
3–5 years of experience in learning design or content development, preferably within HR, Payroll, or ERP transformation projects
Proficiency in multimedia editing software such as Camtasia is a plus
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, digital learning trends, and blended learning approaches
Familiarity with payroll processes and HR systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle) is an advantage
Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities while effectively managing time and tasks
Nice to have:
Proficiency in multimedia editing software such as Camtasia
Familiarity with payroll processes and HR systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle)
