Job Description:

Our client in the food industry in Pointe Claire is currently looking for an Import Logistics coordinator. The ideal candidate is a client and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team oriented and collaborative culture. As our Frozen Food Import Logistics coordinator you will have various responsibilities from A-Z from various locations worldwide into the US. You will also lead initiatives to improve service levels to existing and new accounts. This candidate will be highly organized, embrace challenges and thrive in an ever-changing international environment. Exceptional English communication skills are required to service and build large North American corporate accounts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Schedule ocean reefer import shipments into USA
  • Manage customs and FDA releases
  • File ISF
  • Export Container Shipments A-Z (FCA-CFR) Truck, Ocean, Regulatory Documents, Scheduling
  • Collect and Generate required documentation based upon regulatory requirements
  • Communicate and confirm deliveries with all members throughout the supply chain
  • Problem solve with Processors, ocean carriers, forwarders, warehouses & truckers and Clients
  • Negotiate Freight Rates for select shipping lanes
  • Work closely with Trading, Quality and Financial Departments

Requirements:

  • Experience working in imports in a logistics setting
  • Knowledge of ocean imports and reefers
  • Import ocean experience into the USA (NOT Canada)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Exceptional communicator – in person and via telephone/email
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Confident, assertive personality
  • Work well under pressure within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize many tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
  • International Business Experience
  • Solid understanding of inco terms
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Outlook, Word) PowerBI
  • Certified Customs Specialist

French and Spanish an asset
