Job Description:

Excellent Opportunity for Mentoring/Professional Development. The Acute Care Rehab team is seeking a full time occupational therapist to participate in the evidence based care of our patients in our level one trauma center and in our 'Hospital at Home.' Excellent time management, communication and team interaction skills are keys to success in this role, as well as a strong focus on patient and family centered care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel
  • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members
  • Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan
  • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses
  • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality
  • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient
  • Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed
  • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance
  • Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools
  • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure
  • CPR Certification every two years
  • Excellent time management, communication and team interaction skills
  • Strong focus on patient and family centered care
