Job Description:

Occupational Therapist role as part of the Early Start Australia Graduate Program. The program offers a smooth transition with supervision, support, and a dedicated buddy. The role involves working in well-equipped clinics, client’s homes and schools, and via telehealth to help children achieve developmental milestones, educate parents, and support children with developmental delays and behavioural issues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Help children achieve their development milestones such as fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to help play, school or independent skills (eg throwing a ball, getting dressed, holding a pencil or utensil)
  • Educate and involve parents, carers and others to facilitate the development and learning of children
  • Help children with developmental delays learn everyday tasks (such as bathing, getting dressed, brushing their teeth and feeding themselves)
  • Help children with behavioural issues maintain positive behaviours in all environments (eg instead of hitting others and acting out, using positive ways to deal with anger such as writing about feelings or participating in physical activity)

Requirements:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligibility for AHPRA registration upon graduating
  • Graduated in the last 12 months or graduating in 2025
  • A full valid driver's license, with access to your own vehicle with third party insurance
  • A valid Working with Children Check, or be willing to obtain
  • A clear current Police Check, or be willing to obtain
  • NDIS Workers Screening Clearance, or be willing to obtain
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or be willing to obtain
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, and attention to detail
What we offer:
  • A smooth transition with great onboarding, high level of supervision, ongoing support, and a dedicated buddy
  • Fortnightly technical training
  • 1-on-1 mentoring with a senior clinician
  • Access to world renowned professionals
  • Collaborative multi-disciplinary teams
  • Combination of working in-clinic and in-community
  • A collaborative service model valuing all client-related activities
  • Over 100 hrs of rostered annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours per year
  • Up to 12 week’s annual leave per year with additional purchased leave program
  • Reduced prices and benefits from groceries to movie tickets
  • Generous paid parental leave
  • Time allocated to therapy support activities
