As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients. To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.
Job Responsibility:
Assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.)
Develop treatment plans
Conduct evaluations/re-evaluations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
Document thoroughly
Provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients
Communicate with patients/families and case management regarding evaluation/treatment results and discharge plans
Recognize changes in the patient’s medical status and notify nursing when appropriate
Maintain medical records/documentation for each patient and their plan of care
Perform duties with minimal supervision of director
Demonstrate effective time management skills
Complete annual certification requirements
Attend mandatory in-services and online learning timely
Work over as patient volume requires to meet customer’s needs
Report to work on time
Participate in departmental quality improvement activities
Maintain appropriate licensure and certification
Pursue continuing education
Maintain positive interaction with customers (patients, visitors, physicians, team members)
Participate in required classes and activities for hospital accreditation
Comply with specific policies/procedures/assignments concerning safety and codes
Provide a safe patient environment free from hazards
Ensure equipment is working properly and report malfunctions/abuse/loss promptly
Requirements:
Graduate of accredited Occupational Therapist program per American Occupational Therapy Association
Occupational Therapist: GA & TN license upon hire
AHA Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
