Kisimul provides residential care, supported living and education services for people who have a learning disability, a diagnosis of autism and a range of associated complex needs. We are looking for a dedicated individual to join the organisation as an Occupational Therapist and be a part of our multi-disciplinary team. As an Occupational Therapist you will make a key contribution to providing effective person-centred support within our Meaningful Life Model.
Job Responsibility:
Provide a service to young people (aged between 8 and 19 years)
Support individuals to develop skills to enable them to actively participate in a lifestyle of their choosing
Build meaningful therapeutic relationships with individuals
Build upon understanding of occupational needs of a client group with learning disability, a diagnosis of autism and associated complex needs
Bring about best practice in all aspects of engagement
Requirements:
Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy
Current professional registration with HCPC
Ideally be a member of The Royal College of Occupational Therapists
Experience working in relevant areas (e.g., learning disability, specialist school settings, mental health settings)
Passion for supporting people with these needs
Proactive in seeking advice and support for professional development and clinical decision making
Dynamic, resilient and motivated individual
Commitment to an evolving service and delivering effective and evidenced service initiatives
Post graduate training in sensory integration is desirable or a willingness to undertake this post graduate training is essential
