We are seeking to fill a dynamic inpatient acute care occupational therapist role at New Mexico’s only Level 1 trauma center and premier teaching hospital. The successful applicant will rotate between UNMH’s adult care units. Occupational therapists on our team also have the opportunity to train on specialty teams, including the ICUs, pediatric units, splint team and burn team. You will work with a team of highly skilled physical and occupational therapists, assistants, nurses, and medical teams. Opportunities to precept students are available. This role will include some weekend and holiday requirements. Experience preferred; however, new grads are welcome and, if selected, will be supported with a robust training program.
Job Responsibility
Organize and deliver occupational therapy to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically-impaired following disease, injury, or surgical intervention
Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce and enhance performance
Facilitate learning of skills and functions necessary for adaptation and productivity
Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Related Discipline
CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
NM Occupational Therapist License or Temporary License
