Job Description:

Excellent Opportunity for Mentoring/Professional Development. The Acute Care Rehab team is seeking a full time occupational therapist to participate in the evidence based care of our patients in our level one trauma center and in our 'Hospital at Home.'

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel
  • Performs both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members
  • Provides written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan
  • Plans intervention strategies and communicates effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses
  • Provides occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality
  • Provides documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient
  • Participates in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed
  • Participates in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance
  • Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools
  • Attends scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure
  • CPR Certification every two years
  • Excellent time management, communication and team interaction skills
