The Outpatient Hand Center at Medical Plaza Miller is seeking a full time occupational therapist to join the hand therapy team.
Job Responsibility:
Performance of specialized tests, such as manual muscle testing, goniometry and teaching occupational therapy procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel
Perform both individual and comprehensive evaluations with multidisciplinary team members
Provide written summary of diagnostic findings to be incorporated into team plan
Plan intervention strategies and communicate effectively with families regarding the child's strengths and weaknesses
Provide occupational therapy treatment services including neuro-developmental and sensory motor therapy, developmental stimulation, home programming, equipment demonstration, or other treatment modality
Provide documentation of goals and objectives for therapy as well as the course and progress of interventions with the patient
Participate in IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan) as needed
Participate in chart review of clinical records for quality assurance
Attend relevant workshops and update instruments/tools
Attend scheduled staff, CDSA, or other committee meetings as needed
Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Requirements:
Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of North Carolina with current licensure
CPR Certification every two years
Valid NC driver's license
Strong focus on evidence based practice, time management, team communication, and overall patient centered care
Willingness to travel
Nice to have:
Experience in hand therapy
Certification in hand therapy
