Job Description:

Grade 2 Occupational Therapist role in the Acute Psychiatric Unit (APU), part of the North East Mental Health Service at Austin Hospital. The APU is a 24-bed unit providing acute inpatient care and statewide eating disorder services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide psychosocial assessments and interventions
  • assist in supporting the long-term recovery for patients, their families and carers
  • work in a multidisciplinary team acute environment to address occupational needs for consumers
  • collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to actively support patients’ access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • participate in quality supervision and training
  • contribute to a positive workplace culture that prioritises wellbeing and personal growth

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in Occupational Therapy
  • current AHPRA registration
  • experience in or strong interest in acute mental health settings
