Job Responsibility

  • Planning and delivering occupational exposure monitoring (dusts, fumes, vapours, gases, metals)
  • Conducting workplace noise surveys in line with Control of Noise at Work Regulations
  • Leading and supporting assessments for COSHH, HAVS / WBV, Welding fumes, IAQ, LEV performance (where competent), Thermal stress and Legionella (where competent)
  • Interpreting results against WELs / EH40 and producing clear, concise reports
  • Advising on pragmatic control measures - engineering first, then procedural and PPE
  • Supporting the wider Health, Safety & Environment team to embed good occupational hygiene practice
  • Maintaining monitoring equipment, QA records and ISO-aligned documentation

Requirements

  • Occupational Hygiene Degree or Diploma
  • BOHS modules (e.g. M503 / M505 / M506 / M507 / W503)
  • Professional membership of the BOHS Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (Licentiate LFOH / LFOH(S) or higher)
  • Proven experience delivering occupational hygiene assessments and reports in operational environments
  • Strong working knowledge of exposure monitoring and noise assessment

Nice to have

  • CertOH (or working towards)
  • Experience with IAQ investigations, LEV testing or Legionella risk assessments
  • RPE / face fit testing competence
