You will be responsible for implementing an effective occupational health program and providing support for EHS programs at the facility level. This role provides health care services to employees or contractors who become ill or injured on site. In this position you practice within the parameters of professional licensure to ensure consistency with legal, labor, regulatory and corporate requirements. The Occupational Health program elements include but are not limited, immediate care for illness and injury, health surveillance, regulatory compliance, case management and health promotion.
Job Responsibility
Implement an effective occupational health program
Provide support for EHS programs at the facility level
Provide health care services to employees or contractors who become ill or injured on site
Works independently to design and implement a facility-level occupational health program
Establishes a system for the immediate care of employee and visitor injuries and illnesses
Implements appropriate health surveillance of employees
Maintains employee medical records and documentation
Implement case management program
Facilitates the availability of direct or indirect health-related counseling
Maintains professional continuing education and secures task-based certification
Able to apply ergonomic principles
Utilizing AI tools when needed for evaluations
Responsible for administrative tasks as needed to support the facility EHS programs
Requirements
Registered nurse with current Mississippi license to practice required
Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical nurse setting
Proficient in computer program use
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Certification in CPR/first aid
Physically able to respond in emergency situations
Nice to have
BSN preferred
Occupational health nursing experience preferred
Certification in COHN preferred
