Job Description:

We have a permanent, full time position for an onsite Occupational Health Nurse. The role will be working Monday to Friday 08.30 - 17.00 however flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the business. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for promoting and maintaining the health and well-being of employees in the workplace, ensuring compliance with workplace health regulations, and developing and delivering occupational health surveillance and general health / wellbeing programs that foster a safe work environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct health assessments and screenings for employees to identify health risks and advise HR and site management on appropriate interventions
  • Develop and implement occupational health surveillance program tailored to the specific needs of the workforce, considering the workplace health hazards
  • Collaborate with management and human HR to address employee health concerns and facilitate return-to-work programs
  • Support the health and safety team to ensure health risks are minimised and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Provide training and promote wellness initiatives where relevant within the organisation
  • Maintain accurate health records and prepare reports on employee health trends and return to work data
  • Support HR and site management teams where relevant with the absence management processes and communication
  • Support health and safety team with workplace health and DSE assessments

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license with a current state license
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or equivalent or working towards
  • Experience in occupational health nursing or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health regulations and practices
  • Ability to build rapport with management and employees and foster a supportive workplace culture
