We’re looking for an experienced Obsolescence Manager to lead and deliver critical work packages across a range of high-impact maritime defence projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within our Support Engineering function, working on programmes ranging from £10Ks to multi-million-pound value.
Job Responsibility:
Leading obsolescence work packages across product lines
Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating lifecycle risks
Managing and maintaining ERP/component databases
Producing obsolescence reports and supporting customer updates
Supporting component selection with long-term lifecycle considerations
Collaborating across engineering, project, and supplier teams
Coaching and mentoring junior engineers
Driving continuous improvement in processes and compliance
Requirements:
Background in Component Engineering or Obsolescence Management
Experience across the full product lifecycle (defence, aerospace, or similar)
Strong understanding of component legislation & materials compliance
Familiarity with ERP/PMRP tools (IFS desirable) or SQL databases
Ability to lead work packages and collaborate cross-functionally
HNC/HND or Degree in Electronics, Mechanical or related field
Eligibility to obtain SC clearance
