Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Obsolescence Manager to lead and deliver critical work packages across a range of high-impact maritime defence projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role within our Support Engineering function, working on programmes ranging from £10Ks to multi-million-pound value.

Job Responsibility

  • Leading obsolescence work packages across product lines
  • Identifying, monitoring, and mitigating lifecycle risks
  • Managing and maintaining ERP/component databases
  • Producing obsolescence reports and supporting customer updates
  • Supporting component selection with long-term lifecycle considerations
  • Collaborating across engineering, project, and supplier teams
  • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers
  • Driving continuous improvement in processes and compliance

Requirements

  • Background in Component Engineering or Obsolescence Management
  • Experience across the full product lifecycle (defence, aerospace, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of component legislation & materials compliance
  • Familiarity with ERP/PMRP tools (IFS desirable) or SQL databases
  • Ability to lead work packages and collaborate cross-functionally
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Electronics, Mechanical or related field
  • Eligibility to obtain SC clearance
