Job Description

We are currently seeking a Observability Consultant to join our team in bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN). Lead – Digital Banking Monitoring and Observability Engineering. The Lead for Digital Banking Monitoring and Observability Engineering is accountable for owning, administering, and evolving the monitoring and observability ecosystem for Digital Banking applications. This role carries end to end responsibility for platform configuration, governance, operational health, and continuous improvement to enable proactive detection, stability, and business aligned outcomes. This position serves as the single India based owner for enterprise observability platforms including ThousandEyes and Splunk, with full responsibility for tenant administration, access control, configuration standards, alert governance, dashboards, integrations, and operational hygiene. Beyond monitoring platforms, the role requires strong technology depth across SaaS based platforms, cloud hosted application architectures, and databases. The Lead is expected to bring solid conceptual and practical understanding of relational and non relational databases including Oracle, SQL, and MongoDB, enabling meaningful monitoring design, effective troubleshooting, and informed collaboration with engineering teams. Working closely with US based engineering, platform, and operations teams, this role drives alignment on monitoring strategy, tooling usage, and roadmap priorities. The Lead operates independently, makes sound technical and operational decisions, and represents monitoring and observability with confidence across time zones. A strong focus is placed on automation and simplification through Python based solutions and the thoughtful application of GenAI concepts to improve alert intelligence, triage, and operational insights. Flexibility to work in the second shift until at least 10:30 PM IST is essential to enable active collaboration with stateside teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Own and administer Digital Banking monitoring platforms with a focus on stability, scalability, and governance
  • Lead configuration and standardization of ThousandEyes and Splunk including alerts, dashboards, policies, and integrations
  • Act as the single point of accountability from India for monitoring strategy and execution
  • Design meaningful and business aligned alerting by reducing noise and improving signal quality
  • Partner with US counterparts to align monitoring standards, onboarding approach, and roadmap execution
  • Ensure consistent and controlled onboarding of applications into monitoring platforms
  • Maintain platform access management, configuration hygiene, and documentation
  • Apply strong SaaS and cloud architecture understanding to design effective monitoring strategies
  • Leverage deep database knowledge across Oracle, SQL, and MongoDB for monitoring design and issue analysis
  • Support major incident triage and root cause analysis through deep monitoring insights
  • Integrate observability outputs into incident, problem management, and operational reporting processes
  • Build and maintain Python based automation to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency
  • Identify observability gaps and proactively influence remediation with application and platform teams
  • Explore and apply GenAI concepts to enhance operational intelligence and decision support
  • Maintain clear runbooks, standards, and knowledge assets
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, adaptability, collaboration, and professional communication

Requirements

  • 10 or more years of experience in monitoring, observability, or production engineering roles
  • Strong hands-on ownership of ThousandEyes and Splunk administration
  • Solid understanding of SaaS platforms and cloud hosted application architectures
  • Strong database concepts with experience across Oracle, SQL, and MongoDB
  • Strong Python skills for automation and operational efficiency
  • Experience supporting Digital Banking or large-scale enterprise applications
  • Exposure to GenAI concepts and their operational application is an added advantage
  • Ability to operate independently with high ownership and accountability
