Job Description:

Join our highly skilled team of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ob/Gyn Specialists in a positive, collaborative, academic environment dedicated to delivering world class, patient-centered obstetric and gynecologic care in beautiful San Diego.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform early obstetrical ultrasound to confirm pregnancy location, cardiac activity, dating, and to assess maternal uterus and adnexa utilizing transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound
  • Perform various perinatal obstetric ultrasound examinations including: detailed first and second trimester anatomical surveys, fetal growth, and cervical length assessments with the ability to recognize normal and pathological conditions and apply additional modalities as indicated (i.e Doppler, 3D/4D)
  • Obtain relevant history via EMR, image according to protocol, review cases with the care team, and generate preliminary reports using structured reporting software
  • Recognize and troubleshoot various imaging IT issues
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in OB/GYN
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date
  • Commitment to continued education in MFM ultrasound by obtaining at least 15 CMEs (20CMEs for Principal level)every 36 months in detailed OB ultrasound and/or fetal echocardiography
  • Recent OB ultrasound experience in a similar role and setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sonographic assessment of maternal-fetal conditions including a thorough understanding of fetal anatomy, physiology, anomalies, and high risk maternal factors
  • Must be able to work at various locations in the San Diego region based on business needs, including Sorrento Valley, La Jolla, Hillcrest, and Encinitas
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Nice to have:

  • Recent experience performing GYN ultrasound in a similar role and setting
  • Two to three (2-3) years OB (fetal) ultrasound experience
