Job Description:

Provides anesthesia care for surgical cases including preoperative evaluation, monitoring during surgery, and post-operative handoff. Responsible for pain management services, maintaining equipment and records, and professional development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides Primary Anesthesia Care (General, Regional, Monitored Anesthesia Care) to patients having surgery
  • Provides anesthesia care for surgical cases (24 hour coverage) including preoperative anesthesia evaluation
  • Evaluates the surgical patients preoperatively
  • Conducts an immediate pre-anesthesia evaluation of the patient in the OR
  • Maintains an accurate, detailed and legible record for each patient
  • Assembles all necessary drugs, supplies and equipment for the administration of anesthesia
  • Provides Pain Management Services as requested by the medical staff
  • Maintains own professional growth and development

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Nursing
  • 2-4 years experience in anesthesia
  • Nurse, Advanced Practice (APN) AND Nurse, Registered (RN) licensure
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of anesthesia delivery equipment
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • AANA certification in anesthesia
  • ACLS
  • Able to transport patients of up to 250 pounds via wheelchair or stretcher
  • Able to lift patients with the help of equipment and/or other coworker
  • Able to perform CPR according to American Heart Association standards
  • Able to stand, stoop, and move around patient care area
