Nutrition Specialist

• Develop and implement plans to enhance nutrition and food service programs
• Ensure meals and snacks meet established nutritional standards and contribute to overall well-being
• Manage food inventory, place orders, and coordinate the distribution of donated items
• Prepare detailed monthly reports, including meal counts, food expenses, and reimbursement claims
• Provide training to staff and families on nutrition education, healthy eating practices, and their impact on overall health
• Monitor food service operations to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local health and safety regulations
• Train staff in menu planning, food purchasing, preparation, sanitation, and personal hygiene
• Utilize nutrition-related software to support program operations and train staff in its use
• Travel to offsite locations as needed to provide program support
• Promote mealtime as an opportunity for teaching healthy food habits and positive social behaviors

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Home Economics, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• At least three years of experience in nutrition education, counseling, or a related area
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and training skills
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and crouching
• Familiarity with nutrition-related software systems
• Must pass background checks and meet state requirements, including fingerprinting
