Performs a variety of patient food service, diet office and sanitation duties in accordance with safety, sanitation and service standards. Serves as a liaison between the patient, Food/Nutrition Services and Patient Care Services.
Job Responsibility:
Maintains a safe, sanitary work environment conforming to policies and regulations
Operates and maintains food service equipment
Communicates patient food needs and feedback to appropriate area
Processes diet orders, corrects menus, tallies menu items and performs other patient meal tasks accurately per established procedure
Serves and picks up patient meal trays per policy
records intake per policy
Stores, labels and dates food items
uses the First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology
Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point) principles for time and temperature
records per policy
Serves menu items for patients and guests utilizing correct servicing utensil and serving size
Washes dishes, serviceware and pots/pans in the dishroom and pot/pan area
Removes trash, boxes and other waste from the department
Cleans throughout the department including but not limited to surfaces, equipment, carts, walls, and floors
Requirements:
Customer service experience
Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations
Nice to have:
High School Graduate or GED
Diet office, healthcare and/or food service experience
Clay County Food Handler permit or ServSafe certification within 30 days
