Our Calgary client is currently undertaking a significant Data Centre Consolidation project and is seeking a skilled Nutanix Specialist to accelerate their migration efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced expertise in Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere to drive critical workload movements in a complex enterprise environment. Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and orchestrate workload migrations across Windows and Linux virtual environments
  • Conduct detailed pre-migration analysis, including dependency checks and runbook creation
  • Use Nutanix and VMware tools to execute workload movement and optimization
  • Coordinate with application owners and network staff to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime
  • Execute cutover activities and provide post-migration support, primarily during evening maintenance windows
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time during migration phases
  • Document processes, issues, and resolutions to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of combined experience with Windows and Linux server administration in virtualized environments
  • Advanced hands-on expertise with Nutanix AHV and VMware vSphere, specifically regarding migration techniques
  • Proven experience with workload migration tools, methodologies, and troubleshooting
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python are highly desirable
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as required by the migration schedule
