A specialist all-boys SEMH school for pupils aged 9–16 based in Dorking, Surrey, are looking for a Nurture Thrive Teacher to join their team. You will be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, alongside some additional SEN needs including autism, speech & language needs, and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties within a structured and supportive environment. The role is hands-on, varied, and incredibly rewarding.
Job Responsibility
Teaching a range of subjects and skills to KS3 pupils
Planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons
Supporting pupils with varying academic abilities and additional needs
Managing behaviour positively and supporting emotional regulation
Encouraging confidence, engagement, and positive relationships
Creating a safe, consistent, and supportive learning environment
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Ideally experience working within SEMH or challenging behaviour settings
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A proactive and adaptable attitude
