Job Description:

A community‑focused healthcare organization in Chicago is seeking an experienced Nurse Recruiter to support high‑volume clinical hiring during a period of departmental rebuilding and transformation. This is a critical, hands‑on role for a recruiter who thrives in fast‑paced environments, can manage significant requisition volume, and knows how to effectively engage and “sell” candidates on mission, impact, and opportunity. The Nurse Recruiter will play a key role in restoring trust with hiring managers, strengthening recruitment processes, and supporting the organization’s broader goal of improving the employee experience within a safety‑net hospital setting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage a high-volume nursing recruitment workload, often supporting 30-70+ active requisitions simultaneously
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, provide guidance, and rebuild confidence in the recruitment process
  • Source, screen, and guide nursing candidates through the full recruitment lifecycle
  • Serve as a compelling ambassador for the organization, clearly communicating mission, culture, and growth initiatives to candidates
  • Navigate competitive and challenging recruiting conditions, including lower-than-market compensation and perception barriers
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership as the department is retooled following organizational changes

Requirements:

  • Prior experience recruiting nurses in a high-volume environment
  • Hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Agency recruiters with a strong nursing focus will be considered
  • Comfortable managing heavy workloads and shifting priorities
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence, build trust, and manage expectations
  • Mission-aligned and motivated by work that directly impacts underserved communities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
What we offer:
  • Comprehensive benefits package including 403(b) and Blue Cross Blue Shield health coverage
  • Parking available on site
