Job Description:

The Supervisor is responsible for promoting and demonstrating Parrish Healthcare's Culture of Choice®; actively and effectively participates in ensuring strategic goals and objectives are met or exceeded; provides the supervision and oversight necessary to ensure assigned functional area(s) have the proper resources in place to effectively fulfill our mission to provide Healing Experiences for Everyone all the Time® and achieve organizational strategic (Game Plan) goals. Functions as nursing administrative person in-charge of hospital shift operations on evenings, nights, days of reduced operation and weekends.

Job Responsibility:

  • Promote and demonstrate Parrish Healthcare's Culture of Choice®
  • Supervise operational planning within assigned functional area(s)
  • Coordinate overall staffing activities for nursing units
  • Guide care partners as a clinical resource
  • Assure adherence to systems, processes, policies and procedures for service excellence
  • Assure adherence to systems, processes, policies and procedures for quality and safety
  • Communicate with Department/Division Leadership and/or Executive leadership
  • Communicate and support families and patients during difficult decisions and situations
  • Implement call back system for OR, GI, Cath Lab, etc.
  • Fill medications from Pharmacy, as needed
  • Retrieve medical records afterhours
  • Serve as the ADA Coordinator
  • Lead necessary certification, accreditation, and audit procedures
  • Adhere to systems, processes, policies and procedures for employee engagement
  • Maintain skills and knowledge within professional practice
  • Adhere to systems, processes, policies and procedures for effective administration of annual budget(s)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Know fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree (Nursing) required
  • 3 years to 5 years work experience
  • State of Florida RN license
  • BCLS required through the American Heart Association
  • ACLS required through the American Heart Association

Nice to have:

Bachelor's degree preferred
