The Department of Health Services (DHS) Division of Quality Assurance (DQA), Bureau of Nurse Home Resident Care (BNHRC) is recruiting for a Nursing Home Surveyor for the Northwest Regional office (Eau Claire Region) to help ensure Wisconsin residents receive top quality care. This position works remotely, requires approximately 75% statewide travel, and works a flexible schedule with the option of four 10-hour workdays.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring compliance with standards and rules in the following areas: admissions, transfers and discharges
resident rights
staffing and census
quality of care assessment
quality of life assessment
resident care plans
social, psychological and rehabilitative services
provision of medical services
and therapeutic activity programming
Providing expertise to the survey team in the areas identified above and serving as team coordinator as designated
Investigating complaints and conducting follow-up and surveillance visits
Requirements:
Experience participating in an investigation or compliance review (e.g., conducting interviews, collecting information, writing reports based on findings, etc.)
Experience interpreting and applying state or federal healthcare regulations
Experience working in a healthcare setting
Experience using Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook for data entry and report production, document creation, correspondence, etc.
Nice to have:
Experience in social service or advocacy work for elderly or disabled populations
Experience with regulatory, legal, public health, or medical investigations
Experience with a state or federal health care survey process (e.g., completing resident assessments/care planning, conducting quality assurance audits or monitoring, determining compliance, investigating complaints, etc.)
