Nursing Assistant position in the Flex Pool for full time night shifts. Responsible for providing physical patient care, implementing admission/transfer/discharge procedures, maintaining effective communication, and ensuring unit cleanliness and supply management.
Job Responsibility:
Demonstrates competency in the physical care of the patient according to AHF/unit patient care standards
Implements admission, transfer and discharge procedures, according to AHF/unit standards
Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrates competence in time management, teamwork, problem solving, organization, and timely response
Participates in maintaining supplies, equipment and unit cleanliness
Demonstrates self-growth/accountability
Demonstrates competency in all required complex care activities within their home units
Assists in achieving unit quality scores which meet or exceed hospital/ national average for nurse-sensitive quality indicators
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and coworkers
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
BLS, CPI
One year of experience taking care of patients and dealing with the public preferred
Physical requirements: walking and standing on tile or carpet, bending, stooping, sitting, use visual near and distance acuity, verbal ability to communicate, assist in transfers and transport, functional range of motion, grip strength of 60-80 pounds, forward reach, overhead reach, bend, squat, kneel, change position rapidly, lift 25-60 lbs., carry 25-50 pounds, tolerate high noise, busy atmospheres and noxious odors
