Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Navigo family, working as a Nursing Assistant within the Acute services, which encompassess single point of access (SPA), crisis, liaison, home treatment, substance misuse and the inpatient lodges. Job Responsibility:

  • To develop knowledge and understanding of the lived experience of people in your care
  • To advocate for your service users
  • To develop supportive and caring relationships with individual service users
  • To deliver prescribed 1:1 and group interventions within the scope of the support plan
  • To provide updates to senior staff of individuals mood, behaviour, interaction, motivation and mental health
  • Sensitively support individuals with activities of daily living
  • To work with and without direct supervision
  • Help identify early signs of relapse and regression
  • To maintain informative electronic records
  • To undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time
  • Be able to work flexibly within the different elements of the appropriate service pathway
  • To ensure delivery of care in accordance with care plans and risk management plans

Requirements:

  • A foundation knowledge of mental health
  • Able to work shifts, covering days and some nights, weekends and bank holidays
  • Currently eligible to work in the UK
  • Care certificate, or prepared to work towards completion of this within two years
  • GCSE or equivalent qualification (level 2) in Maths and English
  • For Support Workers: No experience necessary

Nice to have:

  • A keen interest in mental health, as evidenced by research on the subject
  • Knowledge of benefits and housing systems
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • First Aid
  • IT or equivalent qualification to level 2
  • Experience working in a mental health setting
  • Experience effectively communicating with people who have additional needs in this respect
