Job Responsibility:
To develop knowledge and understanding of the lived experience of people in your care
To advocate for your service users
To develop supportive and caring relationships with individual service users
To deliver prescribed 1:1 and group interventions within the scope of the support plan
To provide updates to senior staff of individuals mood, behaviour, interaction, motivation and mental health
Sensitively support individuals with activities of daily living
To work with and without direct supervision
Help identify early signs of relapse and regression
To maintain informative electronic records
To undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time
Be able to work flexibly within the different elements of the appropriate service pathway
To ensure delivery of care in accordance with care plans and risk management plans
Requirements:
A foundation knowledge of mental health
Able to work shifts, covering days and some nights, weekends and bank holidays
Currently eligible to work in the UK
Care certificate, or prepared to work towards completion of this within two years
GCSE or equivalent qualification (level 2) in Maths and English
For Support Workers: No experience necessary
Nice to have:
A keen interest in mental health, as evidenced by research on the subject
Knowledge of benefits and housing systems
Mental Health First Aid
First Aid
IT or equivalent qualification to level 2
Experience working in a mental health setting
Experience effectively communicating with people who have additional needs in this respect
