Job Description:

Join DeVry Greenhouses as a Nursery Production Labourer: steady hours, hands-on plant care, supportive team, and growth opportunities in a family-owned greenhouse. The core focus of this position is to support plant care and production activities in the nursery. The ideal candidate has some flexibility with hours due to seasonal volume change during peak and non-peaked periods. Regular hours are 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday. Some Saturday work may be required during peak seasons.

Job Responsibility:

  • Propagating and transplanting nursery stock
  • Potting and re-potting plants
  • Planting, spacing, and staking trees, shrubs, and young plants
  • Pruning trees, shrubs and plants
  • Digging, cutting and transplanting trees, shrubs, flowers and plants
  • Spraying trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants to prevent disease and pests
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas

Requirements:

  • Hard working and reliable
  • Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Able to work independently or as part of team
  • Willing and able to work longer hours during peak shipping seasons
  • Previous nursery experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right individual
