Requirements

Completion of a “Keeping Children Safe” Form
DBS
At least 2 satisfactory employment references
Some roles may also require a 5-year employment history

Job Responsibility

Clean all surfaces including tables, chairs, shelves, sinks, windows and doors – paying special attention to “high contact” areas including security access panels, door handles and light switches
Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all areas
Empty all litter bins and remove waste from the setting, disposing of it appropriately in either general waste, recycling or sanitary bins
Ensure all high and low level dusting is completed, including underneath furniture
Assist with the daily washing of nursery laundry including washing, drying and storage
Clean all areas of the nursery including toilets, kitchen, play rooms and staff areas
Complete all duties in accordance with the setting and company guidelines, completing weekly diary sheets and checklists where applicable
Be aware and comply with all COSHH documents and their contents
Take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and any other person who may be affected by your activities
Attend 3 paid Saturday Training Days every year (January, May and September) along with an annual fundraising event for your nursery that also takes place on a Saturday

Job Responsibility

Maintain hygienic play and learning spaces that meet early years health and safety standards
Support with mealtimes to create positive, calm, and enjoyable dining experiences
Assist with the cleaning and sterilising of toys, furniture, and learning materials
Help prepare the nursery environment for daily activities, sleep-times, meal-times, and events
Manage deliveries efficiently - checking contents, organising distribution, and ensuring safe, accessible, and organised storage areas
Keep stock levels well-maintained and anticipate needs before shortages occur
Respond promptly to unexpected cleaning or organisational challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to the nursery’s operation
Follow all COSHH and Health & Safety procedures, ensuring compliance and best practice at all times
Attend all training and professional development to improve your skills and knowledge
Support colleagues during busy periods, including lunch service, laundry, and event preparation

Job Responsibility

Prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals and snacks, from approved Cherubs Nurseries’ menus
Take an active role championing cooking and baking across all areas of the nursery
Maintain a high standard of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
Ensure good stock rotation in cupboards, fridges and freezers
Ensure correct temperature of all food, especially high-risk food before service
Be aware of health and safety legislation which is relevant to the nursery kitchen
Attend both in-house and external training, as required
